This and That

Daddy chilling with our kids...

There have been a lot of ups and downs lately. Lilly is about to turn 6 weeks old and already she is showing signs of development. We went to the new Target store in Southington today with my mom and big surprise - she bought her presents! I wanted to buy Lilly some dangly toys to hang from the handle of her carrier. Do you think my mother would pass up the opportunity to purchase MORE things for her granddaughter? Of course not! It took her awhile, but eventually it caught Lilly's attention.

A nice surprise was that "Uncle" Tim finally got over his fear of holding Lilly. He said she gained enough weight where he felt ok to hold her. I don't know who enjoyed it more, Tim or Lilly!

Lilly got another bath, and she continues to love it. Thank goodness!!!! I'm definitely getting better at it.

Today Lilly wore her first designer outfit, Calvin Klein courtesy of Mark and Krissy Rainone!

My good friend Andrea had her daughter Olivia 23 hours and 51 minutes before I had Lilly. How weird is that, especially considering her due date was the day AFTER mine! We had a nice visit together. Olivia was a bit more animated than Lilly was. Olivia may be 2 lbs smaller, but she makes up for it in noise! This will be a great picture to show them when they are much older and (hopefully) as good friends and their moms are.

And the nicest thing has been 2 nights in a row Lilly has ALMOST slept through the night! She has gone 6 hours before waking up. Last night she went down at 8pm and woke up at 2am and 6:30am. Definitely manageable!

The struggle has been finding consistency to her feeding patterns and GAS! The poor thing was miserable tonight with gas, right after she threw up all over me. I didn't know her little stomach could hold that much formula, she coated my entire shirt! That Mylicon stuff works great, it seemed to really help. But she just keeps eating and eating...I know, I know, she's only 6 weeks old. I know it's probably too early for a consistent pattern, but a Mom can hope, can't she???

Hey Katrina - Sounds like Lilly is doing great. She looks SO cute. Can't wait to meet her in peson. Right around 6-8 weeks, Molly went through a time of cluster feeding where she ate every 45 minutes to an hour and a half. That was about when I threw in the towel with nursing. And yes, she had some soakers with spit-up too...once with my parents who had to call in my sister for reassurance that she wasn't really sick. It's totally normal! And she will get on a pattern soon enough. I found the more I forced it, the more she fought it, so let Lilly tell you what her pattern is going to be. Hang in there...it's going to get a whole lot better real soon!!!
